FOREIGN VISITS

In 1932, at the invitation of Vazir Ismailbhai Mohamed Jaffer (Chotoo) the band had the honour to visit Bombay on the auspicious occasion of the arrival of Prince Aly Khan. In Bmbay the band was received very enthusiastically wherever it went and played. Innumerous functions were organized in honour of the band which also included the unique honour of having a group photograph with Prince Aly Khan

In 1936 the Ismaili world celebrated the Golden Jubilee of the Imam, His Royal Highness Prince Aga Khan III. Although the ceremony was held in Bombay, Karachi had its share of jubilation  and the band participated with the group of other semi-military institutions and celebrated the occasion in a befitting manner. All the members of the Band donned brand new uniforms and went in for entirely new sets of musical instruments, drums etc. Immediately after the ceremony in Bombay His Royal Highness visited Karachi, when the band submitted Services to Him. He graciously appointed Vazir Hussain T. Ramzan, Captain of the band, as a member of Karachi Ismailia Supreme Council, in recognition of his services to the band. He was succeeded by late Mr. Rahimbhai Datoo as the captain of the bad, and Rai Rajabali as the Vice-Captain.
