1927-1929: Khaki Uniform on military pattern dominated during the existence of the band. It comprised of half-pant and a military coat with camel-coloured cap and ordinary black boots. The khaki stockings designed under red-green lines, and the cotton-rope and leather belt around the shoulder enhanced an elegant apperance.
1930-1945: Former khaki uniform was restored, but the introduction of bagpipe in 1930 saw a distinctive addition of "pee-cap" crowned under the design of My-Flag on top. This time the cotton-cord was introduced.
1954-1953: Two uniforms tailored during these eight years: (1) Full military khaki attire and cap were prepared. Red and green shawl resulted embellishment to the piper with vest side brown belt and badge. White gaiters and black boots also developed worthy apperance.
(2) jean coat and side-cap of military style having red-green lines and red-green shawl with side and vest belts, badges, gaiters and black boots was the next uniform.It was kept reserved for Diamond jubilee of Imam Sultan Mohammad Shah under the directive of Prince Aly S. khan, It also earned a name of National Uniform in later time,
1954-1987: Red-green uniform specifically prepard for Platinum Jubilee of the Imam. Oriental Banath imported from London for coat and pant, Piper enjoyed Margaret-rose shawl of Scottish pattern tartan enriched with round and vest white leather belts. The pagari, or turban of green zari kullah, or head-gear, and tura produced facinating results. It reflected costume of Punjab. Gaiters in white canvas and black boots were an additional beauty.
1958-1967: Pattern of former uniform retained under certain changes. Jean coat and pant fully white with brown belts were made. Round Scottish Cap was fashioned in Margaret-rose on the style of British and American armies.
1968: Above uniform again continued. The cap changed. into straight-shaped, was named K-Cap. Piper's shawl in new check colour, 'Lyla' was introduced which is still in use with other uniforms.
1976: Awami Uniform introduced with white Kurta and Shalwar in Japanese KT and Peshawari Koti designed with vivid crown. Red-green pagari and Pathani chappal made it a costume of Frontier Province tradition. It was worn in a scout rally in 1976 whose chief guest was Begum Salimah Aga Khan. It proved a striking sucess with the public. It was made in memory of our Peshawar Jamat who had accorded warm hospitality to the Band during His Highness's visit of Peshawar in 1970. Normally it is in use.
1982: Former uniform this year underwent some elaborations. Aba dominated in white-colour with a koti of like design. Scarf of Palestine tradition was wrapped round the head, edged with silver embroidery. It was worn during Hazar Imam's Silver Jubilee in 1982. It is worth-mentioning that the crown prince of Jordan, Hasan bin Talal was greeted by the Band at Karachi airport on February 27,1982 and was deeply impressed to look the players clad of this uniform. He rushed out from his car and enquired about the Band from the Drum Major.
1982: Pattern of Arabic uniform Was little merged with military dress to create a distinctive appearance. It gained a name of Disco-Arabic in its subsequent performance.
1983: This time saw coming of Prince Uniform. One year exhausted to adjust its final design. White woollen was used with embroidery trimmed in golden, and the strip of My-Flag was tucked of sleeves. Two vertical lines in green on pant were designed. Prince cap in black aroused a real charm. Red-green belt enriched with Band's insignia alongwith golden-plated badge were in addition, and the white boots get an attraction. Introduced on March 25,1983 during a Grand Darbar of Hazar Imam's Silver Jubilee, to survive loving memory of Prince Aly S. Khan who patronized this Band since 1932. It is stilll in use.
1983: New variety appeared. Awami cream Shalwar-Kurta with national koti in Margret-rose, the general attire of government officials was introduced alongwith K-cap. Cream leather shoes with double chains accelerated the appearance. It is also in use.
1986: Younker-II Uniform with navy-cut sleeves and full pant was brought out from July 11, looks like "SAFARI DRESS" on military pattern being generally worn by the high officials in armies. It is called D.J. uniform. Dark Grey (Hinnah) with green blazing cloth have been used with red strips, golden button on both the colors of the shirt with golden lining thereon just to expose smartness of individual member. It is presently used with great demand from the public.
